On Tuesday, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced to test a new service called Prime Wardrobe, which allows customers to try on clothes and return them for free.
The new program allows people to order from 3 to 15 items at a time before actually buying it. The clothes will be in a special box that is resealable, and a free UPS label is also included. Customers could return the items they don’t want in the box and only paid for the items they keep.
According to the company, the service will only be available for members of Amazon Prime, which is the company's membership service for $99 per year. The company didn’t disclose when the Prime Wardrobe will be available.
According to Nazar, 74% of Amazon customers complained about printing return label, and 25% of customers complained about finding a new box or envelope. The key disadvantage of Amazon is that it has no physical locations to return items easily, and the new program will solve the problems of printing return labels or finding boxes if they threw the one the items was shipped in.
Amazon is not the only company that is offering “Try Before You Buy” service. Warby Parker, the eyewear retailer, allows customers to try on up to five pairs of glasses at home up to five days.
